Over the past year, Microsoft Advertising has continued to expand its content network outside of Microsoft Properties to help extend reach for advertisers. This includes recent partnerships with the Wall Street Journal, Rodale network and iVillage. Previously, requested features such as website exclusion and site performance reporting were not yet available…until now!
The latest adCenter release offers several new Content Ads features in the U.S., offering advertisers more control of content ad placement and performance. This includes website exclusion and site performance reporting.
Website exclusion offers advertisers the option to exclude their content ads from appearing on certain sites. The benefit of this feature is to reach your desired audience and track performance using the new content ads site performance report.
When adding a new content campaign or editing campaign, you can modify your website exclusions by clicking on the ad group settings and clicking “edit”.
Once you click on “edit”, Exclusion settings will display. This allows you to add websites you wish to exclude. You can also modify and delete existing website exclusions. After making changes, click "apply" and then save your ad groups settings to complete your changes.
Site Performance Report
The new Site Performance report gives advertisers the option to view performance of content ad utilizing the website placement settings. This report helps to provide insights into which content network sites are performing best for your content campaign(s).
To run this report, you simply click on the reports tab in adCenter, select “Site performance” under basic settings, then choose your view, date range and account. Once complete, click “create new report” at the bottom of the page.
Your report will then appear in your browser where you have the option to download.
If you are using the adCenter Desktop, please note that the website exclusion settings and Site Performance report will be made available in a future release.
