These Official Rules (“Rules”) govern the operation of the Bing Ads “Pro Derby” Challenge (“Challenge”). Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA, 98052, USA, is the Contest sponsor (“Sponsor”).

DEFINITIONS

In these Rules, "Microsoft", "we", "our", and "us" refer to Sponsor and “entrant”, “you” and "yourself" refers to a Challenge participant, or the parent/legal guardian of any minor entrant. By entering you (your parent/legal guardian if you are a minor) agree to be bound by these rules. 

CHALLENGE DESCRIPTION:

This Challenge consists of a skill-based Contest as well as a random drawing Sweepstakes. The object of this Challenge is to recognize the highest performing SMB Partner employees as related to becoming or renewing as a Bing Ads Accredited Professional. Entrants will receive points based on their performance in completing a series of test questions and winners will be determined based on the judging criteria listed below.

WHAT ARE THE START AND END DATES?

This Challenge starts at 12:00 AM, Pacific Time (PT), on May 1, 2017, and ends at 11:59 PM PT, on June 16, 2017 (“Entry Period”). Entries must be received within the Entry Period to be eligible.

CAN I ENTER?

This is a trade Challenge open only to authorized employees 18 years of age or older of one of the companies listed at http://aka.ms/bingadsproderby who has received an invitation to participate and whose business is based in the 50 United States, including the District of Columbia. Minors must have consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Employees and directors of Microsoft Corporation and its subsidiaries are not eligible, nor are persons involved in the execution or administration of this promotion, or the family members of each above (parents, children, siblings, spouse/domestic partners, or individuals residing in the same household). Void where prohibited.

If you are participating in your capacity as an employee, it is your sole responsibility to comply with your employer’s gift policies. Microsoft will not be party to any disputes or actions related to this matter. Microsoft is committed to complying with government gift and ethics rules and therefore government and public sector employees are not eligible to enter.

HOW DO I ENTER?

During the Entry Period, SMB Partner employees will be invited to become a Bing Ads Accredited Professional or to re-certify their Bing Ads Accredited Professional accreditation. There is no cost to participate and details on achieving accreditation can be found here: https://advertise.bingads.microsoft.com/en-us/resources/training/get-accredited. SMB Partners will earn points based on each entrant’s test performance score. At the close of the Entry Period, winners will be determined for each category listed in the Winner Selection and Prize Categories section below. Each entrant must achieve a minimum of 80% to receive a passing score, and points will be assigned as follows:

  • 80-83 will receive one point
  • 84-87 will receive two points
  • 88-91 will receive three points
  • 92-95 will receive four points
  • 96-99 will receive five points
  • 100 will receive six points

There are also ways to earn additional points:

  • Each SMB Partner will receive 3.5 points for any entrant who previously earned accreditation from June 18, 2016 to April 30, 2017.
  • For anyone that has already been accredited, you can renew your accreditation and earn extra points. Just take the new 50-question quiz for re-certification. Once you pass, your SMB Partner will earn the same points as indicated above, + 1 additional point for each entrant who renews.
  • Each SMB Partner will receive 1 additional point for submitting a photo of a training or group exam with #bingparter, #proderbycontest, and @company name in the social media post. Photos can be shared on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter and can be posted from the SMB Partner account or the personal account of an SMB Partner employee. There is a maximum of 100 points per SMB Partner via this method. For this method, one point will equal one entry and all entries will be entered into a random drawing to determine one winner.

We are not responsible for entries that we do not receive for any reason, or for entries that we receive but are not decipherable for any reason.

WINNER SELECTION AND PRIZE CATEGORIES

At the close of the Entry Period, points will be tallied and potential (pending confirmation of eligibility) SMB Partner winners will be determined in each of the following prize categories, as follows:

  • Highest average overall score
  • Highest number of new and renewed accreditations (during contest period)
  • Highest total score (by points)
  • Overall winner (SMB Partner with the most points across all categories)
  • Overall winner is the SMB Partner with the highest overall points across the other three categories, where 1st Prize = 3 points, 2nd Prize = 2 points.

SMB Partners will also be awarded gold, silver and bronze respectively based on percentage of employees that are accredited.

In the event of a tie for any place, the SMB Partner with the highest number of entrants having a 100% Exam score will be the winner. If a tie still exists, the SMB Partner with the highest average entrant exam score will be the winner. The decisions of the judges are final and binding. If we do not receive enough entries meeting the entry requirements, we may, at our discretion, select fewer winners than the number of prizes described above.

Prizes will be awarded to the winning SMB Partner, not to the authorized employee at the SMB Partner or to any other individual employees acquiring or completing any entry materials on behalf of the winning SMB Partner. Further, the winning SMB Partner’s CFO or other senior executive selected is responsible for determining any prize distribution within the winning SMB Partner’s organization in accordance with its policies. We will not be responsible for any disputes arising between individual employees and their respective employers.

There is no limit to the number of times an SMB Partner can win. If an SMB Partner wins in multiple categories, they will be able to receive the prizes for each individual prize category won.

No substitution, transfer, or assignment of prize permitted, except that Microsoft reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event the offered prize is unavailable. Prizes will be sent no later than 28 days after winner selection. Prize winners may be required to complete and return prize claim and / or tax forms (“Forms”) within the deadline stated in the winner notification. Taxes on the prize, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner, who is advised to seek independent counsel regarding the tax implications of accepting a prize. By accepting a prize, you agree that Microsoft may use your entry, name, image and hometown online and in print, or in any other media, in connection with this Contest without payment or compensation to you, except where prohibited by law.

WINNER NOTIFICATION

Winning SMB Partners will be contacted via e-mail or phone by their Microsoft POC no later than 7 days following judging with prize claim instructions, including submission deadlines. If a select winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim a prize, or fails to return any Forms, the selected winner will forfeit their prize and an alternate winner will be selected time allowing.

The odds of winning are based on the number of eligible entries received.

GENERAL CONDITIONS AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

To the extent allowed by law, by entering you agree to release and hold harmless Microsoft and its respective parents, partners, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees and agents from all liability or any injury, loss or damage of any kind arising in connection with this Contest or any prize won.

All local laws apply. The decisions of Microsoft are final and binding

We reserve the right to cancel, change or suspend this Contest for any reason, including cheating, technology failure, catastrophe, war or any other unforeseen or unexpected event that affects the integrity of this Contest, whether human or mechanical. If the integrity of the Contest cannot be restored, we may select winners from among all eligible entries received before we had to cancel, change or suspend the Contest. Rules violators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and may be banned from participation in Microsoft Contest. 

GOVERNING LAW

This Contest will be governed by the laws of the State of Washington, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts of the State of Washington for any disputes arising out of this Contest.
